The fever is rising!

Five more days and I'm in Ireland! This blog tells the story of my four weeks of biking through Ireland. The adventure starts on Tuesday with two nights in Dublin. After that, I haven't planned much yet. I know I'll start heading south along the coast, but where the trip takes me, I don't know yet. I don't have any expectations except to enjoy! I try to post regularly, but I have no idea how it's going to work, since I plan to sleep in my tent for the most nights (no elecricity to charge my phone).

I have never in my life done anything this big with so little planning. Spontaneity is a cool thing, but at the moment this vagueness scares me a bit too. I'm sure of this though: whatever happens on the way, I'm never going to forget this trip!

Some info on my gear (sponsored companies, please send me some money for Guinness):
Rental bike: Giant Escape Hybrid (Thanks to Belfield Bike Shop in Dublin)
Bags: Ortlieb Back-Roller Classic + Rack-Pack S (I could take these for a swim without worries!)
Tent: VAUDE Power Lizard Ultra Light (High expectations here. Read posts later for more info.)

  1. Just tested the Power Lizard UL. Easy to set up and feather-light. The already high expectations just got a bit higher.
