Hi Harri, this is Susan from Faungort. Today I found the scrap of paper with your blogsite info and just read all about your tour. It is interesting that I arrived in Dublin and headed south to a small town in Wexford where I spent the summer in a friend's house "until it sold". it was a wonderful experience--especially spending time with my older neighbors. Thru the O'Learys I got to experience "old Ireland" which is dying with their generation.
In November I headed "to the west of Ireland" spending time in Cork city, Kinsale, and Clonakilty--where I would have stayed had I found a room to rent. Alas, it was not meant to be. Westward Ho! Skibbereen, Bantry, Glengarriff... and Kenmare... where my travels ended and I settled. I never got to Galway... or Connemara... which makes me sad. maybe someday.
it is raining. :-( the worst thing about Ireland for me is the weather. it is depressing. was fun to (finally) follow you around Ireland. I'm glad you had a good time. it is a beautiful country and the people are unique. susan
Thanks for your comment Susan! Nice to hear from you. I'm back in Germany and teaching again. In a week the fall break starts and I want to do another shorter tour with my bike here in Germany. The weather needs to get a bit better for that though. Now it's been just 12 degrees Centigrade during the days and around zero in the night. It was quite sunny for some time, but today it started raining and it's supposed to stay that way for some days now. I might do some blogging again as well.
Ikimuistoista reissua!! Mielenkiinnolla seuraan matkan etenemistä. -Henna
