Good morning from Tinahely!

Yesterday after leaving Johnnie Fox's, I got to experience some unbelievably beautiful sceneries. The Wicklow mountains national park is something breathtaking. For history and more info click here.

There was a lot of climbing after my pub stop yesterday midday... But the sceneries were worth the sweat. After coming down to Laragh, I stopped shortly in Glendalough Green cafe and then continued through Rathdrum to some small villages (most of them named Bally-something. More info here.) I pitched my tent next to a quiet road somewhere between those small villages. I was very proud of my accomplishment. My tent could not be seen from the road. Too bad I forgot to take a picture.

The night went well and the first thing I saw in the morning was a deer of some sort hopping away from the tent. I packed my tent about three hours ago and started heading towards Tinahely. (The Finnish readers might find the name funny.) Now I'm sitting in the cafe Dlish having breakfast and charging my phone.

There are a lot of new pictures in my Dropbox folder (pages: more pictures). I'd like to get feedback on the panoramas. I can't see them well with my mobile. There's even a video filmed on the R115 in the mountains. I'm sorry about the loud wind sound, but I couldn't remove it with my phone.

It's raining a bit at the moment, but it's not going to stop me. I've got about 70km to my next destination, Kilkenny. I just booked a bed from a hostel there. It's supposed to rain a lot later today and through the night. I'd better get going...

  2. The video is great but...... the way you are cycling, it looks like you had way too many smithwicks at Johnnie Foxes !
70 km to Kilkenny ! I have a feeling you may be wishing you had hired a boat before you get there !
