I left Dublin around 10 am and started heading south. The warm up phase is over and the rolling begins.
The climb was not as tough as expected so far. There are more hills ahead still. The weather has been good so far and until tomorrow evening there's a very low chance of rain.
I'm now sitting in the Johnnie Fox's Pub in Clencullen. It's famed as "The Highest Pub in Ireland". It's about 350 m above sea level. Well more importantly, both the pint of Smithwick's ale and the "Fox's dip selection" are very tasty. An important part of the Johnnie Fox's experience is the decor. Old pictures and tools all over. I don't think they have two similar chairs in the whole establishment (ok, maybe a couple after all). The place reminds me of Regatta cafe in Helsinki somehow.
New pictures to be seen in the Dropbox folder (under Tour day 1).
