From Cork to Clonakilty

Today's travels took me about 70 km further southwest. I had to work hard against the wind today and I'm pretty tired right now. I did manage to keep dry even though it rained a couple of times. I timed my breaks well and found cover when it was needed most.

In the morning the sun was shining and I had a good and beautiful start. I climbed the other side of river Lee up to the Cork airport and then continued to Kinsale, a small idyllic town about 25 km south of Cork.

It was raining when I got to Kinsale, so I took a break in a restaurant a bit up the hill from Kinsale. The area is called Scilly and the restaurant The Spaniard. I had a bowl of excellent soup and some very good bread with it. From the restaurant I continued to Charles fort. I decided to skip the tour and the entrance fee this time, but I managed to take some nice pictures from the fort looking down the bay area and Kinsale.

The coastal road from Kinsale to Timoleague was breathtaking (in more ways than one, with the wind blowing in my face). I managed to take some nice pictures on the way.

The last town I passed today was Clonakilty. I went and took a quick look at the city. The catholic church was pretty impressive and worth a photo.

I continued on N71 for maybe four more kilometers and found a "nice" spot to put up my tent. Let me put it this way, I can hear the cars nice and loud... But I'm so beat that it surely won't bother me for long.

Today's photos just got uploaded, enjoy!
